Spring is here and that means SOCCER! Weather permitting your kids can lace up their boots (cleats) and head onto the pitch (field). It is important for you to check our website/Facebook for updates on field closings. The AYSO Board makes the ultimate decision on closing Boomer Park. AYSO is currently working on new field layouts. The fields will be under construction until April 11th when they officially open for AYSO players. Please be patient with this process. CASSA practices officially begin the week of March 28th and games start April 16th. You can view your player’s game schedule and stats on our website http://www.cassasoccer.com under our TEAMS. As an all-volunteer organization we look for everyone to pitch in during the season to help keep Boomer Park Fields clean, lined/painted, and adhere to the rules of the Boomer Park Soccer Fields. There will be an opportunity for all of us to volunteer on field set-up night with AYSO (date and time TBD). CASSA has the best families and you all have always stepped up to help, the Board THANKS YOU!
Lifetouch Photography will be coming to Cedar Rock Sports Plex on Saturday, April 30th from 9am-2pm and Tuesday, May 3rd from 4pm-7pm to take player and coach photos. CASSA is very appreciative to Tom Pyne and his crew at the Plex for allowing us to host this event (as well as past events) at their facility without cost to our Club. Lifetouch makes this a very simple and easy process for families. Individual pictures are taken so you can stop by when it is most convenient for you on either of the set dates. If you purchase any item from Lifetouch your player will receive a free, full-size team picture. If you have any questions feel free to contact Mia Goeddeke our Team Manager Representative.
Tryout dates are set;

Tuesday, June 21st (Girls U9-U12 birth years 2005-2008)

Each night registration is 5:30pm-6:30pm with tryouts starting promptly at 6:30pm & ending at 8pm. Friday will be reserved for our coaches who may need to take a second look at a potential player. GVSA rules state no player commitments can be made until Wednesday June 22nd. More information to come!
As tournament fees, referee fees, GVSA fees and the like continue to increase for our Club the Board of Directors evaluated its finances. Please check out http://ww.cassasoccer.com under ABOUT US to see details of our new fee structure for 2016/17 soccer year. (U9-U14 $330 and U15-19 $230) All registration fees are due in full at registration night (July - TBD), if needs be, a payment plan can be set up with our Treasurer on registration night.
Open Board Positions and Thank Yous!
There is an open position on the Board of Directors as Fundraiser, if you are interested in this opportunity to serve CASSA please contact a board member. We want to thank Levon Nauta for her service to CASSA as our Fundraiser the past few years! She has stepped away due to a promotion at her job and trying to finish her college degree; we wish her the best in her new endeavors.
June 30, 2016 Kara Dault’s term on the board will expire. She let the Board know in our March meeting she will be resigning from CASSA as our Secretary. Kara has been a vital person not only serving on the CASSA Board but throughout the Cedar Springs Community and her Church. We are grateful to her many years of tireless, humble, consistent and faithful service to our Club. Her and her husband, Dean, put 4 kids through our soccer Club; Dean even coached for us. Thank you Dault family for your love and support of CASSA through the years!
