June 15, 2009 The U10 Boys CASSA Team took first place in their soccer division this week with a total of 7 wins and one loss. This has been a well earned achievement since they lost all but one game last year!! The boys have improved in their skills and teamwork immensely under the proficient coaching of Paul Kolenda and assistant coaches, George Gonzales and Jim Terhorst. They have shown that by consistent teamwork and passes, that their hard work pays off in goals and wins! June 14, 2009 Congratulations to the U10 CASSA girls team on a very successful season and finishing first in their division with a record of 7-1. They lost their first game of the season and then proceeded to win the next seven games taking a commanding point lead and securing a first place finish the final game of the year. Coach Coons and Coach Dreyer both commented on how well these girls played as a team. "Each player came to practice and games focused on improving not only their individual soccer skills but how to play as a team. Their dedication to build upon team work and their passion to succeed as a team was exceptional. These are some very talented girls and so much fun to coach." October 25 , 2008 CASSA Girls Soccer Takes Second. On Saturday, October 25, 2008, another successful soccer season ended for the U14 Girls CASSA Soccer Team. It was a year ago when the team (formerly U13) started playing full-sided (11v11) soccer and finished the Fall ’07 season with a record of 3-4-1. At the start of the season Coach Timothy Hinton had four objectives: sportsmanship, teamwork, proper conditioning & learning proper soccer fundamentals. By the end of the Spring ’08 season the team had finished first in their division with a record of 6-1-1, and as a result, the team was bumped up a division for the Fall ’08 season. Coach Hinton was not surprised when the team finished second in their new division, again, with a record of 6-1-1. “The girls on this team are extremely athletic and highly competitive, but from time-to-time I have to remind the girls that at their age, player development is primary and winning is secondary. However, it is nice to see the girls continue to improve as players while also winning games,” said Coach Hinton..
